The match we’ve all been waiting for! Our strong U11A team faces our rivals Brock, which is always a tough game.

With the scene set with the big screen in the background ready for the World Cup,bbq sizzling, we brought out the big guns. The comfy chairs!

With all eyes on the World Cup final we needed to focus and our lads did just that, Max lost the toss but was happy with the result and we were batting. Skipper Max and Ollie Daw opened and batted excellent and sensibly punishing the bad balls, a great start without a loss of wicket. Toby and James Burdsall up next and followed on with brilliant batting again hitting precise and perfectly executed shots. Will and Charlie Hamdi in next who had a shaky start losing a couple of wickets but composed themselves and kept the runs ticking. Up next was James Foggo and Ben Warburton who were fantastic with their running with loud calls which took Brock by surprise and showed them we meant business. Aidan and Nish were last in but carried on the excellent batting performance carrying B&L to and end total of 292.

With a quick turnaround we set to the field and showed Brock that we shouldn’t be messed with. Rapid accurate bowling from Max, Toby and James B took Brock by surprise and they struggled to get the runs. With wickets tumbling all our bowlers kept their lines and lengths, all taking wickets with very few wides which meant the win was looking our way. A few miss-fields left the door ajar and Brock fought back well but our excellent bowling meant they just couldn’t quite get there and ended up well short and finished on 268.

Another fantastic match from the lads played in great spirit all encouraging each other, very well done, doing B&L proud.
