After an abandonment and a postponement the u13s were yet to complete a competitive fixture in 2025, a little fortunate in the abandoned game as we were definitely heading for a loss!

Tuesday brought a lovely early summer evening hosted by Wormelow CC. Jacob won the toss and elected to bat. Avi and Jacob opened and both made good steady progress with Avi retiring first on 30 followed a little later by Jacob for 31. The retirement of Avi brought Lewis to the crease for his first foray into u13s cricket, he duly put the coaching pointers of Tim, Holly et al into practice as he batted very sensibly for an unbeaten 15, a cameo of 2 from Jonny and Alex finishing unbeaten on 0 gave us a total of 136/1 once the extras were added in, a very respectable target for Wormelow to chase.

The bowling against Wormelow was executed very well with everyone bowling two overs except for Noah behind the stumps, wickets came fairly regularly and were shared between Arthur, Jonny, Sam, Lewis and one for Alex with his first ball! It was always going to be a hard target to beat and Wormelow ultimately fell 64 runs short in their 20 overs. Great to see the skills being learnt in training put into practice, with some good calling and backing up whilst batting and some good fielding to boot too.
