The 1st XI moved to within a single point of the Division 2 title after an emphatic 20-point victory over Stourport.
After slipping to 73-4 on a slow, sticky pitch, Ethan Lerego and Tom O’Connor produced an extraordinary unbeaten partnership of 243. Ethan completed a magnificent century from 110 balls, while Tom added a superb half-century as Bartestree powered to 316-4 from their 50 overs.
Stourport made a rapid start in reply, racing to 98-2 from 12 overs, but Bartestree’s bowlers fought back brilliantly to bowl the visitors out and complete an excellent victory.
The 2nd XI endured a difficult afternoon away at Stone. AK claimed two early wickets, but the hosts recovered to post an imposing total. The captain struck an entertaining 49 and Chris T added another excellent fifty-plus score in reply, but the target ultimately proved beyond reach.
Sunday brought the inaugural Bartestree Two-Ball Cricket Day, with players from the 3rd and 4th XIs joining members of the Women’s Softball Team, juniors and several father-and-son combinations. Two closely contested T20 matches produced one victory apiece, with the second game decided from its final ball.
