Across both matches, BLCC produced two energetic and competitive performances, narrowly losing to Goodrich 89–86 before delivering another strong all-round display against Brock.

BLCC vs Goodrich (89–86)
A tight contest from start to finish saw confident batting across the line-up. Hannah led from the front with six boundaries, well supported by Michelle’s four, while Tharindi and Carly added valuable runs, including some well-judged 3s. The opening and closing partnerships combined powerful hitting with sharp running between the wickets.

Rebecca showed solid defensive technique, Nicky rotated the strike cleverly to find gaps, and the fielding unit demonstrated excellent awareness with multiple run-outs involving Rebecca, Hannah and Carly. Disciplined bowling from Nicky and Debbie kept the pressure on throughout in a match that went right down to the wire.

BLCC vs Brockhampton

The second match was packed with standout moments. The bowling unit impressed, with accurate spells from Annie and Kate producing plenty of dot balls, a near-maiden from Carly, and strong control from left-armer Tash. Michelle claimed a sharp catch, while Carly held on to an outstanding grab off Tash’s bowling.

Fielding intensity remained high, with Annie putting her body on the line with committed dives and Kate demonstrating excellent long-barrier technique. With the bat, Kate struck a clean six and combined well with Carly for quick singles and comfortable 3s, while Caroline, Rebecca, Tash and Debbie used the walls effectively to keep the scoreboard ticking.

Strong leadership from Debbie capped off two committed team performances full of effort, teamwork and determination — although we unfortunately came up just short against Brock as well.

Next week the women’s team take on Brockhampton and Kington.
