Another close game for the U11's

The second U11 match of the season saw us lose a hard fought game against local rivals Brockhampton.
With more newcomers in the team; Kelly, Sanul, Tom, Olly Nelson and Wilbur, this week’s captain won the toss and decided to bowl.
With Fraser agreeing to keep wicket, Seth opened up with co captain Albie who bowled with pace but no success against a couple of good batters. Brock’s running and calling was good, but matched by some spirited fielding. This was a common theme through the Brock innings as Seth marshalled his troops well. Isla, Kally and Oli O Hare all took their first wickets for the club, aided by fantastic catches from Fraser (2) and Albie, and Seth had a brilliant run out. The team spirit, support and enthusiasm remained fantastic throughout and Brock finished on 318-5.

When The ‘Tree batted, there was a noticeable improvement in running between the wickets and calling, but we were always a little behind the rate and lost wickets at key times. Isla, Kally and Wilbur all got off the mark in terms of runs for the club, batting well against some tight bowling. Isla, Rupert, Oli o Hare, Olly Nelson and Sanul were all not out. We finished on 291-9, the difference being wickets lost and a couple of missed singles.
It was a really good, fun game of cricket and we are already looking forward to next week.
Player of the match was Isla.
