The 2s entertained Fownhope in the penultimate game of the season and the final home game of the season. I lost the toss and we were asked to bowl first.

We started well and probably didn't get the rewards we should have with a few chances not sticking . Enter Jay Acharya. The Doctor. As has happened many times this year, Jay took a wicket in his first over and he wasn't done there, taking 2 in the first over and we were firmly in the driving seat. Wickets fell regularly but we couldn't shift their 6th wicket partnership and we were chasing 207. Carlos bowled an unbelievable first spell - he has made many established players look average this year and certainly has a bright future for the ?

We started well and we were privileged to have the leading run scorer of the club opening for us with Tim making a solid 35 up top, ably supported by Charlie, Extras and Chris (Chris very unlucky not have scored 28 more but middled 7 four shots to the cover fielder). Elliot and I saw us home from 95 - 4 for the win. Elliot batted magnificently for his 52 not out : it was chanceless and was a very mature, watchful innings from a junior player - his first 50 in adult cricket. Thank you to Andy Kalwaites for umpiring 40 straight and Ben Botwright for stepping in at short notice to play.

Whilst it was a great win yesterday, the best thing about it was seeing Nigel up at the ground again - we've missed you Nige and was splendid to see you there!
